INTRODUCTION
Empire Stallions is owned and operated by David James and Donna Egan.  David is no stranger to the Standardbred breeding industry having been responsible for the sale or importation of over 100 Standardbred stallions to the southern hemisphere during the past 25 years including Albert Albert, Fake Left, Soky’s Atom, etc. Donna spent her youth participating in Pony Club and her love of horses carried over to her seven year position as Marketing Director at the Harness Racing Hall of Fame. Donna & David are both passionate and devoted to the enhancement of the Standardbred breed.

GROWTH
The Empire Stallions’ team is enthusiastically preparing for the upcoming 2012/13 breeding season – our sixth year of operation. In 2006, our roster consisted of four stallions standing on a leased property in Shepparton, VIC and this season, 12 stallions with the world’s finest genetic and race credentials will call Empire home at our new location. We consider ourselves fortunate that our stallions have been successful and well accepted by the breeding community. As a result, our business continues to expand each year thanks to the support of our growing family of loyal clients.

COMMITMENT
As part of our long term commitment to Australian breeding, it was decided in 2010 to purchase a lovely property located just 3 kilometers from the Avenel exit of the Hume Highway. This farm was originally designed and built by Dr. John Hyland and his wife Robyn as an equine clinic. We have added many new stallion paddocks complete with diamond mesh fencing, constructed new barns and completed several other improvements. We are committed to offering our clients friendly, courteous and professional service as well as the fairest service fees in the industry. Last season was our first in Avenel and we look forward to many more great years here. We invite you to stop by to inspect the stallions and say g’day – the coffee is always on and sweets are never far away.

EDUCATION & RESEARCH
With everybody’s busy schedules these days, we know it is difficult to visit Empire to see the stallions. With this in mind, we encourage you to visit peruse this website at where you will be able to view race and paddock footage on all stallions, photographs, race career summaries and fully extended, up-to-date pedigrees. There is also the opportunity for you to create a hypothetical pedigree match for your mare using the Test Mating Program (formerly known as Tesio). Please feel free to ring us if you have any questions or would like us to offer our opinion on your breeding selections. A newly created DVD narrated by Rob Gaylard featuring each stallion’s race highlights is available by calling the farm. ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In just a few short years, the Empire Stallions have sired a remarkable 4 Two-Year-Old Australasian Breeders Crown Champions, 3 Two-Year-Old Pacing Colts of the Year, a 3-Year-Old Pacing Colt of the Year and a Horse of the Year! In addition, our stallions have also sired multiple Group 1 and Sires Stakes winners throughout Australia and as a result, they feature prominently on the Top 20 Sire’s Lists each season.
