Lynrose Stallions Join Empire
Graham & Lyn Ward of Lynrose Stud, Katunga, VIC, have recently announced their retirement from the business of standing stallions and agisting mares after more than 37 years of valued service to the industry. The stallions that stood on their Katunga property last season, Triple Crown Champ BLISSFULL HALL, Horse of the Year Sire JET LAAG and Millionaire MODERN ART, will now be shifted only 35 kilometers to join the stallions who last year stood under the Lynrose banner at Arcadia. This new breeding operation is
EMPIRE STALLIONS.
The 8 stallion roster of sires at Empire for 2007/08 season will also include World Champion Sire PRECIOUS BUNNY, Hambletonian Champion YANKEE PACO, USTA 2YO of the Year SEALED N DELIVERED and the Western Ideal Stallion DAWN OFA NEW DAY along with the newly acquired U.S. 2006 Breeders Crown Champion SHARK GESTURE. SHARK GESTURE is a million dollar winning 1:49.1 son of Cam’s Card Shark out of a Western Hanover sister to World Champion Ponder.
EMPIRE is owned and operated by David James and Donna Egan who managed the Lynrose at Arcadia operation last year. David James is no stranger to the Australian breeding scene having been responsible for the sale or importation of over 100 Standardbred stallions during the past twenty five years including Albert Albert, twice Victoria’s Sire of the Year and the Southern Hemisphere cornerstone stallions Fake Left, Perfect Art, Land Grant, Soky’s Atom, etc. |

For the past 15 years, David and Donna have stood their own stallions at both U.S. and Australian breeding farms on a shuttle basis, while managing their Southern Hemisphere breeding careers via long distance. “Standing four stallions in Arcadia and being hands-on last season was very fortunate, especially in view of Graham & Lyn’s recent retirement announcement” said James.
EMPIRE STALLIONS CORP PTY LTD,
a 300-acre facility, is part of the extensive Sheron Park holdings and is located on Central Kialla Road in Arcadia only minutes from the Goulburn Valley Highway and the new Shepparton Raceway.

In addition to providing semen transport throughout Australia, EMPIRE also offers professional agistment and foaling services and are pleased to announce that Ross Pike will join the EMPIRE team as farm manager. “Ross is a very well known and experienced horseman who is highly regarded among breeders and is a welcome addition to our organization,” said James. “Our entire lineup of stallions this season is impressive and we offer a great variety of service fees to suit every breeder.
