Brilliant SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE mare BONNIE JOAN picked up her fourth success at Group/Listed level when she won the Group 2 $50,000 NZ Premier Mares Championship at Addington on Friday (February 2).
After settling midfield, the mare gained a three-wide trail at the bell before being obliged to sit parked for the last lap.
Surging to the front half-way down the straight, BONNIE JOAN held on valiantly to win by a head.
The rate for the 1950 metres was 1:55.2 with the last 800 in 56.2 and 400 in 27.4.
BONNIE JOAN has won 10 of her 21 starts and $187,194 in stakes.
Out of a Live Or Die mare, she was bred by Joan Davie and Dan and P. T. Cummings and is owned by the Tuapeka Lodge Syndicate.
