SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE sired important winners in both Hemispheres this weekend.

In North America ‘BEACH’ was credited with the winners of four divisions of the International Stallion Stake for two-year-olds at The Red Mile, Kentucky.

The winners were the colts HAYDEN HANOVER (1:50, ex Western Hanover mare) and KARPARTHIAN KID (1:50.2, ex Dragon’s Lair mare) and the fillies KISSIN IN THE SAND (1:51, ex Real Artist mare) and MISSWAVE HANOVER (1:51.4, ex Western Hanover mare).

On the home front, BREACH THE BEACH led throughout in a career-best 1:55.1 at Bunbury, while GOZO BEACH won in 1:59.6 at Cranbourne.

BREACH THE BEACH, the winner of seven of his 18 starts, was bred by Bruce Edward from an American-bred daughter of Artsplace and is raced by the Leica Ninja Syndicate.

GOZO BEACH, who completed back-to-back successes, was bred by Brian and Marilyn Gourley and Vic McFarlane and is from a mare by Classic Garry. The brown mare is owned by R. and H. Tabone.
