Bright future for Western Terror youngster

BRIGHT ENERGY, a two-year-old gelding by WESTERN TERROR, proved too tough and too good for his opposition in the Group 3 $30,000 Final of the NSW Breeders Challenge Regional series at Bathurst on Sunday afternoon (July 30).

Sent forward from his second row draw, the bay was trapped three deep without a trail for the first 600 metres before working I to the ‘death’. Gaining the upper hand on the home turn, BRIGHT ENERGY had to pull out all stops to claim the thick end of the prize.

LEXUS WITH A VIEW (by SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE) and the fast finishing BELLA BALL TERRA (by WESTERN TERROR) filled the minor placings. The mile rate for the 1730 metres was a sharp 1:55.1. It was his third win from only six starts and increased his bankroll to $32,970.

Out of a mare by P B Bullville, BRIGHT ENERGY was bred and is raced by M. J. Elder and R. P. Cassar.
