Classic success for Beach filly

Brilliant SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE three-year-old filly PETACULAR hoisted a fresh lifetime mark of 1:55.6 when she blitzed her rivals in the 3YO Classic at Melton on Friday night (March 17).

A short-priced favourite, the filly began safely and settled down in fourth position.

Taking advantage of a slow tempo, PETACULAR was sent forward three-wide by Michael Stanley to take up the running at the 1200 metres mark. She was never again headed.

Cutting the final two fractions in 27.2 and 28, the filly quickly put a gap between herself and her rivals.

She won as she liked by 11.3 metres.

Out of an American-bred daughter of Western Ideal, PETACULAR was bred by Bruce Edward and is owned by the PetStock Racing Syndicate.

She has won 11 of her 16 starts for $268,003 in stakes.
