Empire fillies quinella Group 1 Vicbred 3YO Final

The Little Brown Jug winner TELL ALL was credited with his most important success to date when his daughter TELL ME TALES came from near last to win the Group 1 $120,000 final of the Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series at Melton on Saturday night (July 8).

Starting from the back row, the bay filly settled down second last and was spotting the leaders 30 metres going down the back straight.

Joining the three-wide train at the 600 metre mark, TELL ME TALES launched a spectacular finishing burst down the outside of the track to edge a gallant PETACULAR (by SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE), who sat parked throughout, in the last few strides.

The mile rate for the 2240 metres was a slick 1:56.5 – a new lifetime mark.

She tramped the last 800 in 56.7 in the middle of the track!

The win was her fifth from 10 starts and increased her bankroll to $89,240.

TELL ME TALES was bred and is part-owned by Helen Head with D. L. and L. J. Chisholm.

She is out of a Falcon Seelster mare, Soaring Franco NZ.
