Empire sires in keen demand at Lexington

The stock of Empire sires SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE, CAPTAINTREACHEROUS, HESTON BLUE CHIP and WELL SAID were highly sought after by buyers on the second day of the 2017 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale at Lexington on Wednesday (October 4).

‘BEACH’ produced the second highest priced pacing colt, MONEY NEVER RESTS (ex Lady Be Great, by Western Ideal), who was knocked down for $260,000, and the equal leading filly at $100,000 for PEACEFUL DEO (ex BJ’s Canouan, by Western Ideal).

CAPTAINTREACHEROUS had two colts sell for $100,000, one was CAPTAIN AHAB (ex Acquavella, by Western Ideal) and the other, CAPTAIN IN MY COKE (ex Ideal News, by Western Ideal).

HESTON BLUE CHIP and WELL SAID both had one lot sold, bringing $75,000 and $70,000 respectively. HILLBILLY RICH, a HESTON colt, is out of Hornby Lucky (by Dexter Nukes), while WELL SPOKE LADY, a WELL SAID filly, is out of Thou Shalt Not (by Real Desire).
