First 2YO winner by Well Said

BEAUDIENE WESTERN, a colt by WELL SAID, became his sire’s first two-year-old winner this season when he outstayed his opposition in a heat of the Young Guns at Auckland, New Zealand on Friday night (February 9).

Having only his third start, the colt settled down in the one-one trail before being obliged to sit parked for the last lap.

Knuckling down to his task, BEAUDIENE WESTERN gradually pegged back the leader to score by three-quarters-of-a-length at the wire.

The mile rate for the 1700 metres was a brisk 1:57.1.

The closing half was clocked in 58 and the final quarter in 28.7.

Bred by David Kennedy, BEAUDIENE WESTERN is out of the million dollar producing mare Beaudiene Babe (by In The Pocket).

The colt is owned by Lincoln Farms Bloodstock Ltd, I. A. Middleton, S. Beckett, K. J. Bell, M. J. Brereton, Mrs M. J. Brown, J. R. Dias, D. James, B. P. Rabbitt and the Green Machine Racing Syndicate.
