Five Modern winners in a day!

Champion sire MODERN ART had a red-letter day on Friday (October 6) with five winners in three different States!

MODERN MAESTRO, a former Canberra gelding, was the headline performer, winning at Melton after racing wide in the first lap and taking charge in the middle stages.

He rated 1:56.9 over 2240 metres with the last 800 in 56.9.

The 13-time winner, who is out of a D M Dilinger mare, was bred by Anthony Fitzgibbon and is raced by W. W. and J. E. Gowland, A. R. and S. G. Marbrow and M. J. Lees.

GANGSTER BOY, a MODERN ART gelding, led throughout to post win No 26 at Albion Park. The winner of almost $150,000, the gelding, also out of a D M. Dilinger daughter, was bred by David Farrar and G. W., A. L. and K. L. White and is owned by Dannielle McMullen and Ryan Veivers.

MODERN ART sired a winning double at Wagga with MOD CONNS and STAR BRUTUS (1:59.6).

MODD CONNS, who won for the ninth time, was bred and is owned by Harverton Partnership and is out of a Holmes Hanover mare, while STAR BRUTUS, now the winner of 25 races and $95,000, was bred by Sanmark Inverstments Pty Ltd from an Albert Albert mare. The brown gelding is owned by Maree Dewit.

To complete a huge day, MODERN ERA took out the Bathurst Shootout Final in a 1:53.5 rating over 1200 metres. From a mare by Exotic Earl, the gelding was bred by Graham Maxted and is owned by Milly Marmont.
