King Of Swing wins Sires heat

Smart ROCKNROLL HANOVER colt KING OF SWING, the reigning Breeders Crown champion, captured the first heat of the NZ 3YO Sires Stakes at Cambridge on Thursday (October 5).

Starting from the pole, the colt pinged straight to the top and was never afterwards headed.

He clocked the last 800 in 56 and the closing 400 in 27.1 to win in a photo.

The mile rate for the 1700 metres was a solid 1:56.

It was his seventh win from nine starts and lifted his bounty to $202,877.

Out of the Artsplace mare Twist And Twirl, a NZ Sires Stakes winner herself, KING OF SWING was bred by Breckon Farms Ltd and is owned by Lincoln Farms Bloodstock Ltd, Mrs S. B. and R. G. Fleming and N. McAlister.

Earlier in the day PARISIAN ROCKSTAR, a ROCKNROLL gelding, led throughout to post his seventh lifetime success at Redcliffe.

The winner of almost $40,000, the gelding was bred by Bill and Anne Anderson from the Life Sign mare Left In Paris, a former Vicbred champion. He is owned by A. C. and M. A. Whitecross.
