Leading 2YO sire Pet Rock lands 5th winner

ADDA MY MIND, a two-year-old colt by PET ROCK, became his sire’s fifth individual juvenile winner this season when he emerged successful on debut at Bunbury on Saturday night (February 23).

Starting a short-priced favourite on the strength of some impressive trials form, ADDA MY MIND settled down in second position before assuming control at the 1300 metre mark.

After being restrained in the middle stages, the colt roared home in 29.5 and 28 to hold on to win by a neck. The time for the flying mile was 1:58.9.

Out of a Mystical Prince mare, ADDA MY MIND was bred by Harry Capararo and is raced by Mario, D. M. and K. M. Condipodero.

Two nights earlier, MAYWYN TOUGH, a three-year-old by PET ROCK, notched his second success at Redcliffe. He rated a career-best 2:00 over 1780 metres.

Bred by Gary and Melva Graham, the brown gelding is out of a mare by Armbro Operative. He is owned by R. N. and P. J. Essex.

3YO son of PET ROCK, JUST WON MORE, also secured the sire's 11th 3YO winner of the season, when he scored a comfortable 4m win at Parkes. From Mach Three mare, Sheza Machstar, the win was the juvenile's second career victory from just eight starts, including a 2YO win last year.
