FOUR STARZZZ SHARK sired winners at four metropolitan tracks over the weekend.

MAKES EVERY SCENTS, a Group 1 winning mare, started the ball rolling with a decisive end-to-end win at Melton on Friday night (August 24). She rated a slick 1:55.6 over 1720 metres with the final 400 in a stunning 26.1.

Out of a Holmes Hanover mare, MAKES EVERY SCENTS was bred by the John Gibson Family Trust and Harvey Kaplan and is owned by Jackie and Mary Gibson. She has won 16 races and $253,335 in stakes.

A few hours later MIGHTY MR SHARKEY, a New Zealand-bred son of ‘SHARK’, led throughout to notch his 12th lifetime success at Gloucester Park. The brown gelding rated 1:57.4 over 2536 metres.

From a mare by Christian Cullen, MIGHTY MR SHARKEY was bred by Cavalla Bloodstock Limited and M. R. McNamara and is raced by Skye Bond and Rob Gartrell.

The following night EPAULETTE, a ‘SHARK’ gelding, led and brought up win No. 21 at Menangle, carving out the mile in 1:54.1. Out of a Preux Chevalier mare, the gelding was bred by Harvey Kaplan and is owned by Peter and Zillah O’Shea and Fleur De Lil Trust.

BIG BRUCE, bred and owned in South Australia, completed the quadrella when he overcame a torrid passage to win at Albion Park in 1:57.2 over 1660 metres. The bay gelding has won 14 races for over $50,000.

Out of a daughter of Village Jasper, BIG BRUCE was bred and is raced by Peter and Lesley Medhurst.
