Modern Art starts over festive season

Champion sire MODERN ART produced a spate of winners during the holiday racing including a winning double at the Maitland Country Cups meeting on Saturday night (December 29).

The three-year-old gelding ROCOCO and the mare SUNDAY SESH, who won on the same card at Maitland, both registered their first successes.
 

ROCOCO, who led throughout, was bred by Tony Dumesny from a mare by Washington VC. The gelding is owned by S. A. Morgan and K. L. Bond.

SUNDAY SESH, from a daughter of Armbro Operative, was bred and is raced by D. J. and J. M. Latter, A. Zoneff and D. N. Doyle.

ONTHECRESTOFAWAVE (1:58.3, Mildura) and GREGS LEGACY (1:57.2, Redcliffe) were other recent MODERN ART winners.

ONTHECRESTOFAWAVE, who posted win No 6, is out of a Jenna’s Beach Boy mare and was bred by the Silent Partners Group, Kerryn Manning, G. R. Worthington, M. S. Peace, J. Bryce, J. and A. J. Mihic, T. D. Simpkin, G. Cox and D. Young. The brown mare is raced by Ken Salmon, G. R. Worthington, M. S. Peace, J. Bryce, J. and A. J. Mihic, T. D. Simpkin, G. Cox, D. Young and S. J. Robertson.

While GREGS LEGACY, an end-to-end winner at the Redcliffe Boxing Day fixture, has now won nine races. Out of a New York Motoring mare, the gelding was bred by Mat Day and is owned by G. J., A., J. G. and J. Moutzouris.
