Moonrock on a roll

MOONROCK, a New Zealand bred son of ROCKNROLL HANOVER, continued his devastating form with a commanding win in the Free-for-all at Melton on Friday night (January 19).

Trapped three deep early from his back line draw, the brown entire worked to the ‘death seat’ 500 metres after the start.

After surging to the front on straightening, he marched away from his rivals to score by 6.2 metres.

The mile rate for the 1720 metres was 1:54.8.

He clocked his last 800 in 56 and 400 in a stunning 26.2.

MOONROCK has won six out of 11 this season and 12 of his 36 lifetime starts. He has amassed more than $180,000 in stakes.

Bred by Rob Carr and Don Kirkbride, MOONROCK is out of a Group 1 winning daughter of Holmes Hanover. He is owned by Mentally Stable Ltd, Phil and Glenys Kennard, A. J. Johnstone, D. Zahnleiter and Norm Jenkin.
