Second Classic winner for Heston Blue Chip

Emerging sire HESTON BLUE CHIP produced his second feature race winner and the third winner from his first crop when CELEBRITY CHEF outstayed her opposition in the SA BOTRA 2YO Fillies Classic at Globe Derby Park on Saturday night (March 30).

Having only her second start, the filly was sent forward from the outset but was obliged to race without cover.

Showing a ton of fight, CELEBRITY CHEF levelled up with the leader half-way down the straight and drew clear to win by 1.5 metres.

The mile rate for the 1800 metres was 2:01.2 with the last 800 in 59.6.

Out of an Art Major mare, CELEBRITY CHEF was bred by Bruce and Craig Cameron. The filly is raced by Bruce, Craig, K. A. and P. D. Cameron, P. L. Lewis, Sacred Squash Dads Group, G. W. and J. G. Harrison, J. J. Penny and Sturt Racing Group.

NO NAY NEVER, a HESTON BLUE CHIP two-year-old filly, became her sire’s second juvenile winner when she scored a dominant win in the Bathurst Gold Crown Silver Consolation on Wednesday night (March 27).

Starting from the outside gate, the filly was allowed time to balance up before spearing to the top 300 metres after the despatch point.

She was never again headed.

Cutting the last two fractions in 28.7 and 29.8, NO NAY NEVER won untouched by 7.6 metres.

The mile rate for the 1730 metres was 1:59.8.

Out of a Mach Three mare, NO NAY NEVER was bred by Tony Dumesny and is owned by G. J. and M. S. Meredith.
