Well Said winner in 1:52.2

AFTERDINNERSPEAKER, a New Zealand bred son of WELL SAID, established a new lifetime mark of 1:52.2 and sent his stake earnings over the $50,000 plateau when he outstayed his opposition at Menangle on Saturday night (January 5).

Starting from the No 6 gate, the gelding was trapped three deep for the first 800 metres clocked in 55.1.

After rolling to the front at the half-way point, AFTERDINNERSPEAKER reeled off fractions of 29 and 28.1 to blow away his rivals.

It was his sixth career success and second on Australian soil.

Out of a Presidential Ball mare, AFTERDINNERSPEAKER was bred by Neil Timms and is raced by J. H. Mullins, J. W. Durning, K. J. Eder, N. J. Boyle, Fortuitious Syndicate, Zipper Jazzman Syndicate, Green Machine Racing Syndicate and I Am I Said Syndicate.

Two days earlier the WELL SAID gelding GOTOTHEMOON earned a new speed badge of 1:57.5 at Redcliffe, despite racing without cover from the outset.

The winner of four races, the brown gelding was bred by Brad Steele from a Fake Left mare. He is raced by T. J. and L. H. Barsby and M. Bragagnolo.
