Empire Stallions Gets A Jolt
Mon. July 19, 2010
VILLAGE JOLT, voted North American Two Year Old Pacing Colt of the Year, will be racking up the frequent flyer miles when he arrives in Australia to stand the 2010/11 season at Empire Stallions in Avenel, Victoria.

VILLAGE JOLT p,2,1:51.1; 3,1:50.4f ($1,634,220) by Cams Card Shark-Village Jingle p,2,1:57.1-Life Sign is still the only colt in history to win both the $432,000 Woodrow Wilson and $829,000 Breeders Crown at two.
In a standout juvenile crop that included Rocknroll Hanover, American Ideal and P-Forty-Seven, VILLAGE JOLT quickly distinguished himself as the best two-year-old of that year.

In his racing debut, VILLAGE JOLT won the $120,000 Goshen Cup at The Meadowlands from off the pace in 1:53.3. He returned the following week to win a $45,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes in 1:54.3 again at The Meadowlands leading every step of the way.

In the first major Grand Circuit Stake of the season, VILLAGE JOLT dug in down the stretch to win his elimination for the prestigious Woodrow Wilson at The Meadowlands in 1:52.3. The next week in the $432,000 Final, he was once again driven by Hall of Famer Ron Pierce who quickly put the colt in the lead to reach the first quarter in :27.3 and the half-mile marker in :55.4. VILLAGE JOLT then drew away down the stretch to win impressively by open lengths in 1:51.3 with a last quarter in :27.3.

VILLAGE JOLT's next start was a winning effort in his elimination for the upcoming Metro Stake at Woodbine. In the $933,000 Final of that event, VILLAGE JOLT finished second by less than a length to Rocknroll Hanover in a two-year-old World Record 1:49.4.

VILLAGE JOLT became a millionaire with his victory in the $829,000 Breeders Crown for two year old colts. Regular pilot Ron Pierce took command early from post nine and never looked back through fractions of :27, :57, 1:24.4 and hit the wire in 1:51.1 with more than a four length advantage. "He was just super good tonight. He's got great gate speed and was full of pace. He won the Woodrow Wilson in June and the Breeders Crown in late October - what more could you ask from a colt" stated Pierce.

VILLAGE JOLT won 6 of 10 starts at 2 and for his efforts, was crowned that year's 2-Year-Old Champion at the O'Brien Awards in Canada as well as being voted the U.S. 2 Year-Old Colt Pacer of the Year. He was also the richest 2-year-old of that season.

VILLAGE JOLT returned at 3 continuing his winning form. In his first start of the season, he turned in great performance in the $36,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes winning in 1:51.2 after taking the lead just past the first quarter and never looking back.

VILLAGE JOLT was nothing short of brilliant when he captured one of the coveted jewels in the Triple Crown - the Adios Stake. VILLAGE JOLT won his elimination heat over The Meadows five-eighths mile track in a very quick 1:51.3 and returned less than 2 hours later to take the $321,000 Adios Final with authority - leading every step of the way in 1:52.3.

The Little Brown Jug was next up for VILLAGE JOLT. He won his elimination over the Delaware, Ohio four furlong oval in 1:53.1 leading the entire mile. He returned for the $307,000 Final that same afternoon making his move on the outside at the three-quarter pole sitting three wide and crossed the wire to be a strong second by a half-length finishing ahead of Rocknroll Hanover.

In his division for the Progress Stake raced over Dover's five furlong track, VILLAGE JOLT shot up on the outside to grab the lead during a :26.3 opening panel and controlled the action the rest of the way to win under wraps with a :28 final quarter to win in a thrilling 1:50.4 - a new lifetime mark.

Owned by Jules and Arlene Siegel of Pennsylvania and Jeffrey Snyder of New York, who also owns his sire, Cams Card Shark as well as Rocknroll Hanover and Well Said, VILLAGE JOLT was retired after his 3-year-old season to stand at the Siegel's Fashion Farms. At the time of his retirement, he was the richest and fastest 2-year-old ever sired by Cam's Cark Shark with career stats of 11 wins, 5 seconds and 3 thirds and over $1.6 million in earnings.

A promising, young sire, VILLAGE JOLT's first crop of 2-year-olds raced impressively last season. To date in 2010, this first crop of 60 foals includes 55 starters, 25 in 2:00 and 11 in 1:55 or faster. Included among his many stakes winners from this first crop is Eagle Jolt p,2,1:54.2; 3,1:52.3 ($110,531) who won a division of the Tar Heel Stakes at Pocono Downs in a new lifetime mark of 1:52.3 this past week. Earnings of VILLAGE JOLT's first crop are now approaching $1 Million.

A handsome, dark bay stallion standing 16 hands, VILLAGE JOLT is by the prolific Cam's Card Shark who has sired 457 in 1:55 or faster, 850 in 2:00 and the winners of over $105 million. His dam is the Life Sign mare Village Jingle who has already produced 3 winners from 3 foals - all faster than 1:55. Village Jingle is a sister to the Aged Pacer of the Year and very successful sire Village Jiffy p,1:50 ($1,527,000) and the outstanding New York sire VILLAGE JOVE p,2,1:51.4; 3,1:49.4. This is also the immediate pedigree of Silk Stockings p,2,1:58.2; 3,1:55.2 ($694,894) who was inducted into the U.S. Hall of Fame in 2008. A complete pedigree may be accessed on our website www.empirestallions.com.

Empire Stallions is pleased to offer VILLAGE JOLT to Australian breeders this season at the very reasonable introductory fee of $4,000 including GST. "We are excited to have VILLAGE JOLT standing at Empire this season" said David James, president of Empire Stallions. "We are pleased to add a stallion with his racing credentials, pedigree and siring potential and we believe that he is priced at a fee that makes sense to breeders."
