Another great set of results for STAY HUNGRY this weekend – locally exciting three-year-old colt Hungry Hippo (bred by Brooke Hammond) remained unbeaten with another win, in Hobart this time. At Pocono Downs in North America, three-year-old Snack Attack claimed the $100,000 Max C Hempt Memorial consolation in 1:50.4. His progeny’s average earnings from 301 starters over there now sits at $64,999!
CAPTAINTREACHEROUS three-year-olds headlined his weekend results with two GROUP 1 winners at Albion Park – in the Fillies Final, Arrive (John Poslon) clocked 1:53 in her clean sweep of the series, while French Fries (Solid Earth) took his $153,000 Final in 1:53.6 to take his earnings up to $144,000. Seathestars (Peter & Craig Judd and Mark & Tracey Commadeaur) ran a sizzling 1:50.8 at Menangle to claim victory, while Crusader Miss (Mal Moody) rounded out the juvenile results with a 1:5.1 win at Newcastle to bring up $80,000 in earnings. In Addington, it was five-year-old Rustenburg (Murdoch Bloodstock) who added a third win to his record.
Newcastle also saw TALL DARK STRANGER two-year-old Mydnight (Justin Kahlefeldt) extend his record to two wins from three starts with an impressive 1:55.9 time. At Pocono Downs in the US, his three-year-old daughter Perfidious Crown went 1:51.4 to take the $75,000 James M Lynch Memorial Consolation. At the same meeting, CAPTAIN star Captain Albano took out the $100,000 Always B Miki Invitational in 1:48.2!
