Another Derby winner for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS this week with colt Captain Perfect (bred by Durham Park) nailing his sixth victory at Hobart in the Tasmanian Derby. Fellow three-year-old Just A Cool Dude (Solid Earth) claimed win #4 at Albion Park while CAPTAIN had a new two-year-old winner in filly Krissy (N & W Dewhurst) who saluted at Leeton.
Over the oceans, CAPTAIN filly Duration took a Kentucky Golden Rod Series division at The Red Mile in 1:51.1, but our boys were really to the fore at Pocono Downs with a clean sweep of the 2YO and 3YO Stallion Series Finals! For STAY HUNGRY, Snack Attack (1:50) took the 3YO C&G Final and star filly Lyons I Wanna Chip (1:53.2) claimed the 2YO Fillies Final. In the 2YO C&G Final it was TALL DARK STRANGER gelding Really Bright (1:51.3) in the money while the 3YO Fillies Final was taken out by Ballast.
STAY HUNGRY‘s North American progeny have now ticked over $20,000,000 in stakes earnings for an incredible average of $66,411 per starter!
Of our former roster, BETTING LINE took honours yet again – what a brilliant bread-and-butter producer he’s been, in the style of that old star, Modern Art… Eight winners for him this week – Classic Line, Quickshift Girl, Our True Colours, Line Up Jacquie, Credulous, Kobes Chainsaw, Spitfire & Harleequin – while WELL SAID took a treble of Baxter Red, Amys Baby Angel and Well Said Nugget. Doubles each for FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Mizzz Adele and Starzinhereyes) and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Our Ultimate Lexi and Beach Diamond) and WESTERN TERROR was represented by Favouritehighlight.
