A big win this weekend for STAY HUNGRY colt Hungry Hippo (bred by Brooke Hammond), taking out the $75,000 Globe Derby at Launceston by 11m for an impressive 6-4-2 form line.
CAPTAINTREACHEROUS had a big list again, headlined by Captains Knock (John Rutter) who surged past $700,000 in earnings with his 1:48.9 win in the Brian Hancock FFA at Menangle, his fourth consecutive victory! CAPTAIN had two new two-year-old winners in Treacherous Dreams (Malcolm & Sandra Little) at Addington and by 8m at Parkes, Wit Wickee (Nathan Varcoe) while three-year-old colt Captain Frearless (J Neilson & K Wilson) claimed win #3 at Globe Derby Park. A heat of the Youngblood Series went to CAPTAIN mare Cee Tee Chelsea (W & M Oliver) at Launceston by 6m and in Albion Park, he recorded a double with Alby Two Chains (Rhiannon Park) in 1:50.2 to ring up $162,000 in earnings, and Captain Shuffles (Bill Crosby) in 1:52 for back-to-back wins to his $277,000.
Exciting TALL DARK STRANGER son Neptunite (Kalrag Pty Ltd) also strung two together with his 1:53.4 win at Wagga while fellow two-year-old Jilliby Sniper (Levarg Racing Group) was a new winner by 10m on Stawell Cup Day.
There were doubles this week for WELL SAID (Triedtotellya & Amys Baby Angel) and BETTING LINE (Kobes Chainsaw & Tremendous Sensation), and winners for ROCKNROLL HANOVER (Minstrel), ARTSPEAK (Our Ultimate Bonny) and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Icanmotor).
