A big week for our boys, and especially for STAY HUNGRY!
As well as his star filly Ark Sea (bred by M & C Ryman) hitting $150,000 in the bank with her NSW Oaks heat win at Menangle (in 1:52.7 no less), he recorded a new three-year-old winner in Texas Storm (T Ferguson & A Groves) at Bunbury, exciting colt Born To Entertain (Nathan Varcoe) took out the Pellow Memorial for win #2 at Forbes, and Beaudiene Hunter (David Kennedy) made it three in a row with his salute at Gloucester Park.
TALL DARK STRANGER’s run continued with three new winners – at Wagga, two-year-old colt Lonesome Stranger (Anne Anderson) went 1:55.4 to win on debut, three-year-old Snack Lover took on Ballarat, and at Redcliffe, two-year-old filly Shake (Tony Runde) claimed an 11m victory in just her second start.
CAPTAINTREACHEROUS stock did what they always do and smashed some impressive earnings benchmarks – Captain Ravishing (Sloys Co) reached $700,000 with his Fremantle Cup Consolation at Gloucester Park while Dreams Are Free (Studholme Bloodstock & M Jefferies) hit $175,000 with his Southern Cups Final win at Invercargill, and Spirit King (P & C Judd) brought up the $150,000 at Newcastle. There was a new winner in Maurlen Compass (Maurlen Equine) who saluted at Melton in just her second start, Sanchez (S & K Robertson) secured the 2026 Coolamon Cup, at Shepparton Treacheroustimes (M & S Moloney) reached $112,000 in the bank, and trotter Alpha Stride (E & M Stride) recorded at TR1:57.2 at Menangle.
In North America, Captain Albano was back on the tools to take out a $50,000 leg of the MGM Borgata at Yonkers while filly Darlin’s Angel secured a leg of the New Jersey Home Grown series at Meadowlands.
Of our former list of course BETTING LINE was up and about with nine winners – Get Up Betty (twice!), Rainbow Gambler, Bodyline, Lady In Line, Lambro Mach, Line of Courage, Firth of Clyde, Bet On Aces & Over The Line. SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE took a treble of Spook Crocker in the Mt Gambier Cup, Jilliby Jay Sea & Wheres The Gold, and a double for FOUR STARZZZ SHARK in Last Call and Starzinhereyes.
