Both 4YO QBRED Triad Finals fell the way of prominent owners Kevin and Kay Seymour as they landed back-to-back winners.
Talented gelding French Fries (Captaintreacherous) proved too tough in the first of eight Group races on the harness racing program, as he captured the Group 2 QBRED Triad Final for 4YO Entires & Geldings at Albion Park on Saturday night.
Trained and driven by Trent Dawson, the bay gelding followed Captain Bart three-wide at the start before sitting parked outside that horse and proving too strong for him, rating 1:54.3 for the 2138m journey. The leading pair sprinted home in 26.9 and 27.3, which left race favourite Braventreacherous with a huge task to try and reel them in.
French Fries won by 5.4m from Captain Bart in second, while Braventreacherous finished in third place. Saturday’s victory was the 10th of French Fries’ career, and his second QBRED Triad Final triumph, after winning as a 3YO last year when smashing rivals by 8.8m from the breeze position also.
