The first session of the Lexington Select Standardbred Yearling Sale is over and CAPTAINTREACHEROUS stock yet again were in high demand from the premier stables, commanding over $1.93m in total (the second highest amount for a pacing stallion) and his 14 lots bringing in an average of $138,000.
His best performer on the opening catalogue was also the highest dollar for a pacing filly, #111 Ubeautiful, from Warriwee Ubeaut, bringing $350,000 in the ring. Unsurprisingly given his results and the residual breeding value, his top four lots were fillies with #112 Odds On Variable in next with $270,000, #69 Time Is Moni with $240,000, and #78 Kountry Penelope bringing $200,000.
Next in were colt #89 Strategic Play ($160,000), fillies #70 Molly Station ($130,000) and #81 Treacherous Deo ($100,000) and colt #35 Hot As Fire ($95,000).
Ubeautiful, is the third foal out of $1,849,063 earner and 1:48 3/5 performer Warrawee Ubeaut. “She’s beautiful. I mean, she looks like she’s been ready to wear a harness for two months now,” Crawford Farms’ Heather Reese-Marshall offered. “Big strong filly, great attitude. She’s definitely the whole picture.”
CAPTAINTREACHEROUS has 51 lots in total to go through the ring over the coming days, and STAY HUNGRY will have 12 lots to go under the hammer.
