Exciting times for STAY HUNGRY filly Ark Sea (bred by M & C Ryman) who broke the race record in her NSW Breeders Challenge semi final at Menangle with a 1:49.7 clock-stopping third consecutive win. It takes her earnings past $210,000 and puts her in good contention for the final and a possible Eureka berth. It was all about the threes for fellow three-year-old HUNGRY filly Shericka (bred by L Tabbakh, S Haines, B Dunn, L & R Lee, A Lauders and A Stramsek) whose win in Northam made for her third, and a bank of $33,000. In Launceston, mare Our Dance Monkey (Bred by R & D Michallef and M & D Grace) took her earnings past $58,000 with her victory.
For CAPTAINTREACHEROUS there were plenty of juvenile winners – baby filly Lady Di (B & C Whitelock) took the win at Addington for $32,000 in stakes while fellow two-year-old Treacherous Prince (D Hourani & the Chapman family) made it two wins from three starts at Gloucester Park with a 9m margin. At Melton, Seathestars (C & P Judd and M & T Commadeur) took his earnings past $150,000 with a 1:55.4 win, while at West Wylong, mare A Lil Bit Of Love (Peter Crennan) clocked a track record of 1:55.6 to put 24m on rivals and take the win.
In the US, Captain Arturovico scored yet another win, this time a 1:49.1 in a $50,000 leg of the Kentucky Sire Stakes.
Of our former roster, there was a treble for BETTING LINE (Lustre, Sapphire Gambler & Keayang Viper), doubles for WELL SAID (Welloiled & Well Said Nugget) and TALL DARK STRANGER (Three Five One & Jilliby Sniper), and winners for WESTERN TERROR (Troubadour) and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Keayang Kauna).
