STAY HUNGRY kids starred in Victoria this week with Cardigan Jem (bred by Benstud) remaining unbeaten to claim the Kindergarten Series 2YO Final at Bendigo in a track double with three-year-old Affamato (I & D Montgomery) who clocked 1:55.3 to take his second victory. At Shepparton there was a new three-year-old winner in Loiero (Evan Hillman), helping his sire end the week with Australian progeny earnings of over $1.85m and a total of 62 winners.
TALL DARK STRANGER filly Isthisthereallife (D & T Lewis) was impressive on debut at Ararat, while CAPTAINTREACHEROUS three-year-olds took victory at Penrith – Captains Delight (B Settree & S Caffyn) in the Ladyship Pace – and Goulburn – Message Bank (Ross Angove) in a sizzling 1:54.3 to bring up $116,000 in earnings.
At Oak Grove in the US, stallion Banderas headed a TALL DARK STRANGER quinella with Delray Beach in a $50,000 division of the Kentucky Sire Stakes.
There were doubles this week for WESTERN TERROR (Western Action & Major Mickey), BETTING LINE (Kimchi & Keayang Santiago) and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Rough And Ready & Swanbourne Spunk), and winners for WELL SAID (Nicely Spoken), BLISSFULL HALL (Blissfull LIlly) and FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Keilor Baby Shark).
