A new winner this week among four overall for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS – Captain Kev (bred by Solid Earth) took victory in just his second start at Redcliffe, while mares Sapphiresndiamonds (Bee Pears) and Come On Sloopy (A Daniels & J Blunt) were over the line first at Menangle (1:54.6) and Globe Derby Park respectively.
Also in just her second start, STAY HUNGRY three-year-old Princess Ballerina (Nathan Varcoe) put 11.8m on her rivals to win at Bathurst.
Sires Stakes series are well underway in North America – BULLDOG HANOVER had three 2YO Ontario SS leg winners in Daya, Brindle and Redland Rocket Man at Woodbine Mohawk Park. STAY HUNGRY claimed a quinella in the Pennsylvania All Stars 2YO C&G division at Pocono with Frantic Hanover in 1:52.1 over Thai Hanover. CAPTAINTREACHEROUS was ever dominant in the $40,000 Kentucky Sires Stakes legs at Oakgrove too with wins in the 2YO series for Clouseau (1:53.4), Whispering Angel (1:55.2, from STAY HUNGRY‘s Flippin Liz in second) and Barbuda Belle (1:53.4, from TALL DARK STRANGER‘s Kissin In The Dark), and the 3YO for Captain Arturovico (1:53.0) and TALL DARK STRANGER‘s Delray Beach (1:54.4)
Of our former roster both SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Jive Master, Lamandier & Alto Sensation) and BETTING LINE (Perun, Kimchi & Midnite Desire) claimed trebles while there were winners for both FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Four Starzzz Ruby) and WESTERN TERROR (Yesnomaybeso).
