A big week for STAY HUNGRY with four winners locally and a rising star in North America. The new two-year-old winner Blissful Lover (G Murray & L Pitts) was sensational on debut at Bathurst, smashing his rivals by over 18m, while new three-year-old winner Hungry Joe (R & D Micallef and D & M Grace) took victory at Penrith. More seasoned campaigners hit milestones too – Go Without (Rhiannon Park) went back-to-back to hit $60,000 in earnings with his sizzling 1:50.9 at Menangle, while at Port Pirie, Lochivar Leader (Brooklyn Lodge) reached $40,000 with an 11m victory.
At Oak Grove, the Kentucky Sires Stakes series is underway and on top of the $80,000 2YO C&G divisions was HUNGRY colt Midnight Drive. Taking out a 3YO leg was CAPTAINTREACHEROUS gelding Sea Bistro Hanover in an incredible 1:48, while in a $50,000 division of the 2YO fillies series, Sangiovese posted 1:54.1. At home, CAPTAIN son Captain Oh Captain (Galthorn Park) took win #21 and $93,000 in stakes with a salute at Redcliffe.
A treble this week for SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE – Keayang Kauna, Jive Master and Lollipop – while BETTING LINE took a double (Blazing By and Dee Jays Big Boy), and there were winners for FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Heskoalatee) and TALL DARK STRANGER (Complete Stranger).
