STAY HUNGRY two-year-old crop earnings sit just $16,000 behind CAPTAINTREACHEROUS‘ juveniles for 2025 and adding to the big tally this week was brand new winner this week for STAY HUNGRY in two-year-old colt Gym Junky (bred by Paul Carmody), adding a win to his two placings from just four starts.
CAPTAINTREACHEROUS himself was represented by four winners – three-year-old Captain Bart (Tumby Park) at Albion Park in 1:53.8, mares Backwards First (M & S van Generen & J Mifsud) at Young to bring up $56,000 and Greers Legacy (Benstud), saluting at Globe Derby along with gelding Magic Captain (Mal Moody) by 11m to take his form line to 15-4-5.
In North America, sires stakes season is well under way… At Pocono Downs, STAY HUNGRY fillies Gettin Hungry (1:53.5 & Lyons I Wanna Chip (1:53.1) both took divisions of the two-year-old The Stallion Series, as did CAPTAINTREACHEROUS daughters Need You Now (1:54.4) and JK Fierce Lady (1:54.1). CAPTAIN filly Big Weekend posted 1:52.3 to win a $40,000 division of the two-year-old Pennsylvania Sire Stakes series, while TALL DARK STRANGER‘s Bahama Momma won hers in 1:52. His filly Complete Stranger also won the $50,000 Kentucky Proud Series 2YO Final at The Red Mile in 1:53.3 while up in Canada, BULLDOG HANOVER‘s Brindle won another leg of the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots series in 1:53.3.
Of our past roster, BETTING LINE of course led the way with five winners – Bet Sheza Lady, Yankee Gambler, Gunforhire, Milliewood & Windy Hill Tara – while there were winners each for WESTERN TERROR (Our Uncle Jim), FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Catch The Shark), BLISSFULL HALL (Jacks Up) and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Dancin Dolly).
