STAY HUNGRY well represented this week with a brand new two-year-old winner at Pinjarra, colt Fortitude Phil (bred by the Dewar estate), and a Menangle, Fasting (M Allamby, V & B Hancock) posted his seventh lifetime victory in 1:51.6.
CAPTAINTREACHEROUS also had a slew of new winners – two-year-old Wildfire Stride (E & M Stride) in 1:53.1 at Newcastle, and at Globe Derby Park, three-year-old B T Captivate (B & T Davie) in a track double with mare Sapphiresndiamonds (Bee Pears) who clocked 1:55.3 to top $50,000 in earnings.
Meanwhile, at The Red Mile, it’s all been happening for CAPTAIN three-year-olds in the futurity series – an $80,000 leg of the Kentucky Championship Series for Sea Bistro Hanover (1:49), $30,000 legs of the Kentucky Commonwealth Series for colt Captain Apple (1:49.4) and filly Atte Station (1:49.3), and Kentucky Golden Rod divisions for Benny B Hill (1:49.2) and three-quarter sister to STAY HUNGRY, Shes A Rich Girl (1:50.1).
Situation normal for our past roster with BETTING LINE continuing to prove himself a bread-and-butter sire in the mould of Modern Art with a treble – Buddy Perfect, Rio De Janeiro Blue & Belmer Betty – while there were winners for WELL SAID (Llanfair Llewellan), TALL DARK STRANGER (Cohen The Red) and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Ripp).
