STAY HUNGRY‘s hot streak continues with filly Ark Sea (bred by M & C RYman) taking out the GR1 NSW Breeders Challenge 2YO Fillies Final at Menangle in 1:51.6 to take her earnings past $224,000 while at Parkes, he had a new winner in colt Slick By Design (Paul Carmody).
CAPTAINTREACHEROUS‘ stocks remain high, represented in the GR3 NSW Breeders Challenge Mares Final at Menangle in 1:50.7 by Lux Aeterna (Brookly Lodge & the la Spina family, $594,000), in the Tatlow Stakes by filly Pre Eminant (Angelica Attard), and in the Battle of Beersheeba FFA by Captains Knock ($645,000, John Rutter) in 1:52.3. Kiwi pair Dreams Are Free ($126,000, Studholme Bloodstock) and Mediator (Breckon Farms) were in the money at Invercargill and Alexandra Park respectively, the latter taking a heat of the Northern Metro series.
At Wagga it was Captain Rival (Atworthy Park) in 1:55.1, at Albion Park Carbineer (M Croatta, S Coe & A Moodie) in 1:53.5 and at Newcastle, three-year-old Captain Groove (Louise Toulmin) taking win #4.
At the Woodbine Mohawk Park, CAPTAIN star Ervin Hanover recorded the fastest ever mile in Canadian history with his 1:46.2 win in the $822,000 Breeders Crown Final. Over the border at The Meadowlands, Darlin’s Angel claimed a 1:51 leg of the Kindergarten Stakes for two-year-olds.
Of our past roster, as usual it was BETTING LINE leading the charge with five winners – Get Ya Bets On, Bodyline, Overly Excited, Line Me Up Bro & Tremendous Sensation – while SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE secured a double (Oceanique & Hillview Bondi) and winners each for WESTERN TERROR (Sundancer Rainbow) and ROCKNROLL HANOVER (Rocking With Charm).
