A huge weekend for CAPTAINTREACHEROUS with four winners at Albion Park! Seathestars (bred by Peter & Craig Judd and Mark & Tracey Commadeur) claimed the 2025 South Eastern Derby in 1:54.3, his third win in a row. It was four consecutive wins for filly Captains Mistress (Taffy Ltd) in her 1:54.3 Rising Sun Consolation, and in the first Inter Dominion heat, Sure Thing Captain (Lauriston Bloodstock) posted 1:53.5 to finish just ahead of Catch A Wave, while three-year-old Captain Bart (Tumby Park) put 11.9m on rivals to win in 1:52.1.
Sahara Breeze (R Paul & P Watkinson) hit $267,000 with a 1:54.4 win at Melton, Keayang Moroccan (M Lee & J Craven) hit $63,000 at Mildura, and in New Zealand, the winners’ stall welcomed Magician (Taffy Ltd) and Stubing (L Whiteside) at Addington, Double Quick (Tardina Stud) at Invercargill and Debrief (Breckon Farms) at Alexandra Park.
It was also exciting to see BULLDOG HANOVER‘s first crop firing in the US with colt Dax Seelster claiming a leg of the Kindergarten Series at Meadowlands! The Meadows also produced PASS division filly winners Bahama Momma (TALL DARK STRANGER) and Bling Hanover (STAY HUNGRY).
Of our past sires BETTING LINE recorded a treble – Yankee Gambler, Whataretheodds & Line Me Up Bro – and there were doubles for FOUR STARZZZ SHARK (Line The Starzzz & Filly Thirteen) and WELL SAID (We Salute You & Take Out). ARTSPEAK (Aunty Frances) and BLISSFULL HALL (Asmileandawinx) were also represented this week.
