The champion CAPTAINTREACHEROUS mare Captains Mistress (bred by Taffy Ltd) continues her winning ways, remaining unbeaten in Australia with a 1:49.8 in the GROUP 1 Chariots of Fire at Menangle no less. Congratulations to her connections on an outstanding campaign.
In 1:52.4 at Albion Park We Always Have Faith (Tardina Stud) banked $188,000, Madrigal (Brian Cowley) at Melton topped $158,000, and Burton (Alex Smith & Russell Woods) hit $91,000 at Wagga. Over the border, Keayang Payton (Durham Park) claimed a heat of the Mt Gambier Gold Cup.
STAY HUNGRY had a trifecta with new winner Famished (Peter & Leslie Medhurst) at Mt Gambier, a 7.2m win at Newcaslte for two-year-old colt Revvin Reynard (R & D Micallef) and two in a row for Keayang Hungry (Marg Lee) at Kapunda.
More exciting results from the sales with Benstud’s CAPTAIN colt from Ah La Vitesse topping Nutrien Sydney at $180,000. We were impressed too with Bulldog Hanover, his top lot from Northern Velocity bringing $70,000 and his other two commanding $40,000 each.
BETTING LINE yet again smashed it out of the park with seven weekend winners – Ozzie Punta, Our Mystery Bet, Le Spartacus, Shotinthedark, Captain Barnato, Isthisjustfantasy & Keayang Santiago – while there were winners for ROCKNROLL HANOVER (Rocks Roy), BLISSFULL HALL (Cresco Threepeat), WESTERN TERROR (Western Bill) and SOMEBEACHSOMEWHERE (Spook Crocker & Neds Beach).
