What a week it’s been for STAY HUNGRY! Now with over 70 local winners of more than $2.5m in stakes, he just keeps producing with new winners and smart performers…
Two track doubles topped the list with mares Princess Ballerina (bred by Nathan Varcoe) in 1:55.9 and back-to-back wins for Melfield Soryt (S & N Dickson) at Bathurst, and in Launceston, colt Affamoto (I & D Montgomery) chalked up a fourth win while new three-year-old winner Kaybee (Shane Hawes) was successful. At Redcliffe a 13m victory gave filly Swift Code (Medowie Lodge) a bank of over $45,000 while Kittykat Cutie claimed win #6 at Globe Derby Park. In Horsham, an exciting run gave Keayang Hungry (Marg Lee) his fourth salute.
CAPTAINTREACHEROUS results are unendingly impressive, with eight winners this week across Australasia headlined by a super impressive 1:48.7 – 0.1 outside the track record! – win at Albion Park for Captains Knock (John Rutter). Exciting two-year-old filly Gordons Ghost (C Dolling, E Kay, H Enright & K Riordan) clocked 1:56.6 for a third win at Newcastle while three-year-old Maurlen Compass (Maurlen Equine) took a PB of 1:55.4 at Shepparton.
In Addington, Nothing But You (Breckon Farms) came out on top for a bank of more than $62,000 now, while Captain Ritchie (Mathew Day) topped $179,000 at Penrith, and Captain Bart (Tumby Park) broke through $80,000 at Menangle with a 1:52.3 win. Finally, a new winner at Bunbury with mare Just Cruizin (K & A Charles) taking victory in the Dash, and three-year-old Treacherous Dan (Toby Ryan) with a new formline of 5-3-1 after his Launceston win.
Things are hotting up in the States, and at The Red Mile, Captain Arturovico clocked 1:49.1 for a leg of the Kentucky Sires Stakes.
